The injections are virtually painless with some patients reporting only mild discomfort. For patients who are sensitive to pain, Dr. Pack can use an anesthetic cream. No downtime is required so you can continue on with your day without interruption.
What to expect following treatment:
Many patients report experiencing slight redness, pain, swelling, tenderness, itching, and/or bruising following Restylane® injections. This is similar to many other injections and it is temporary, generally disappearing within a few days.
Patients using Restylane® for lip enhancement may experience swollen lips, which may even appear slightly uneven for a few days. It is recommended that you schedule your appointment with this in mind.
The side effects associated with Restylane®
Healthy adults are generally considered good candidates for Restylane® injections. However, you should discuss your medical history and any medications you may be taking with us during your pretreatment consultation.
Restylane® should not be used in areas of the skin with active skin disease, inflammation, or related conditions. Restylane® is not recommended for areas where a permanent implant has been placed. Patients who are pregnant or breast-feeding should be aware that Restylane® might not be right for you.
